IQM Centre of Exellence Award
On Tuesday 17th September Mrs Gill and Ms Beach travelled to London with representatives from Longdendale High School and the Trust Directors to accept the school’s ‘Centre of Excellence Award’ from the Inclusion Quality Mark. It was a fantastic day, with some excellent key note speakers talking about all types of inclusion and how schools can further support each other.
We arrived a little early which gave us enough time to visit Ms Beach’s favourite place in London the National Portrait Gallery. We visited the top floor so that Ms Beach could give everyone a brief history lesson on the Tudor Monarchs. Ms Beach also bought the learners a present back to school, the Portrait Gallery Book which has hundreds of portraits of historical people as well as modern celebrities. The book will reside in the new Learning Resource Centre when it opens very soon
The plaque will be displayed in reception over the next couple of days so everyone will see it when they first enter the building. It is fantastic that our whole community of learners, staff, Directors, Governors and parents have been recognised for our inclusive practice with this award.
