Duke of Edinburgh – Bronze Expedition
Following their recent training and day walk back in July our Bronze Year 9 and 10 students took to the hills, on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th October, in an attempt to complete their first qualifying expedition. Each team managed to successfully navigate themselves from Godley in Hyde down to Marple Bridge on day 1 before heading up to Broadbottom on day 2.
Throughout the expedition it was impressive to see each student put training into practice. We were particularly pleased with the way in which our students; both individually and collectively prepared for and conducted themselves in the countryside, supported each other in teams, as well as demonstrating some grit and determination to complete the expedition.
Thank you to Miss English, Mr Howson and Mr Baryla for your contribution in ensuring that students experienced a safe and enjoyable experience.
Congratulations on completing the expedition as the first ever Rayner Stephens D of E group!
