RSHS Football Champions 2019
Rayner Stephens U14's returned to the City in the Community tournament as reigning champions and were determined to bring home the trophy for the second consecutive year. The team played some fantastic football and worked hard in defence, completing the first round of fixtures with only one loss and four wins.
The team worked hard and played some fantastic tactical play in attack along with strong tackles and accurate passing. Rayner beat Droylsden 1-0 in the semifinals and came up against a tough team from William Hulme Grammar in the finals. Rayner started strong in defence, making it difficult for the opposition to attack. Some excellent passing through midfield and tactical set plays allowed Rayner to put pressure on William Hulme. Rayners patience paid off after captain Lucy's long range shot hit the back of the net and secured the trophy for the second year running. Well done to all involved!
