Trustee
We are seeking individuals who are interested in joining our board of trustees, to lead the Trust into the next phase of our development. We wish to appoint people who knows what steps are needed to improve a school in a sustainable manner, but with pace, and who has the inspirational and organisational qualities to take a strategic lead on that journey, whilst preserving and further developing the beliefs, values and culture of the Academies within the Trust.

Audit, finance and risk
The trust seeks a trustee with strong audit, finance and risk experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in a charity or non-profit organisation, as well as demonstrating experience from a commercial, retail or industry setting, including evidence of contribution to growing a business, chain of businesses or franchises, as well as experience of head office and organisational development, including driving efficiency improvements in central services.
Education and School Improvement
The trust seeks a trustee who possesses skills and experience from across the educational landscape, with a specific requirement for school leadership. Experience of working in a role with responsibility for school improvement is welcomed.
Business, Governance and Human Resources
The trust seeks individuals who possess a strong ‘general’ skillset from across the business sphere, with a specific requirement for growth management. Experience working in a role with responsibility for corporate governance, legal services or human resources would be valuable.
Commitment
Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role for people who have the energy and skills to make a real contribution to shaping the future of our schools. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge of education.
The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month during term time as a minimum. Board meetings are held at the Trust’s registered office at Ashton Sixth Form College (OL6 9RL), mainly in the evenings.

We are appointing an additional member to this established, hard working and friendly exams team to assist with the delivery of our extensive examinations programme, which is made up of both internal and external exams and assessments.
The successful applicant will be a team player who thrives on working collaboratively. They must be well-organised and flexible with a meticulous eye for detail and have excellent communication skills. They will enjoy using IT and will be at ease using MIS, databases and navigating exam board websites sites. They will be proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office applications (mainly Excel, Word, Outlook etc.). In addition they will be proficient downloading, saving, uploading and moving electronic documents to and from various locations. They will be prepared to undergo internal and external job-specific training and understand that learning the role will be primarily by doing it.
Experience within a college or school environment is preferred, and within an exams office environment would be an advantage, but is not essential. A flexible approach to work is needed because early starts / late finishes may be needed (sometimes at short notice) during the busy exam seasons and some holiday working is likely.

Exams Invigilators

We currently have the following vacancy:
Examinations Invigilator(s)
Required for the 2025/26 academic year - Casual/Seasonal contract
Seasonal working during examination periods (November to June inclusive).
You must commit to being available to work at least 3 whole days per week (or 6 separate mornings/afternoons).
Booking holidays during the Summer exam series should be avoided, especially the two weeks surrounding the May half term (which is 25-29 May)
Grade 3, SSP per annum, pro rata £13.12 per hour (including holiday pay)
We are recruiting seasonal examination invigilators to join our current team, to contribute to the effective and efficient running of our extensive programme of internal and external examinations during the 2025/26 academic year.
Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be provided - your willingness to learn and adhere to exam regulations, along with your relilability and flexibility are more important. Successful candidates will have high standards and will be committed, enthusiastic and dependable. They will be able to be supervised in small teams as well as work independently.
The role requires being vigilent and alert and the ability to easily move about the exam room venue for the duration of the individual examination period.

Cleaner
Cleaner (Evening) Longdendale High School
15 hour shifts per week/3 hour shifts) (plus 3 weeks)
(Shift start time from 3.30pm)
Grade A – SCP 2 – £12.60 per hour
To ensure the school environment is welcoming, clean and safe we are seeking to appoint a hardworking,
committed and enthusiastic candidate to join our cleaning team.
Working effectively, alongside other members of the team, you will be responsible for the general cleaning of
all areas of the school, including classrooms, stairs, toilets and corridors.
Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. A willingness to be flexible in your approach,
acting in a professional manner, paying attention to detail, and having the ability to carry out all duties in line
with school expectations and health and safety guidelines are all qualities, which are essential.
The post which is 10 or 15 hours per week is to be worked during term time as directed by the Site
Managers/Operations Manager to ensure the needs of the school are met. An additional 3 weeks worked in
the main summer holidays will also be required.

Longdendale High School is pleased to welcome applications for the position of Pastoral
Support Worker to extend our current inclusion team. We are on a journey to provide the
highest standards of pastoral care to our students. The role is varied and will focus upon
personalised Inclusion support for individual students, small groups and daily operational
support for the school’s pastoral and inclusion systems. Work includes delivering individual
and small group developmental programmes, working with inclusion leaders to resolve
student conflict and where appropriate providing additional support within the classroom
environment and at lunch and break times. The year groups the post holders will work with
will be decided following interview.
Demonstrating the ability to build and maintain strong positive relationships with students with
a wide range of needs is essential to this role. Previous experience of working within a school
environment and supporting students is preferred but not essential. A willingness to be
flexible in your approach and face challenges positively is required.
